Broad Street has invested in digital dentistry to make treatment more precise and the process easier for our patients. Where appropriate, we can use our 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner to capture a detailed digital 3D record of your teeth without traditional impression trays.
This gives us accurate information to work from when planning your crown and can be transferred digitally as part of the process of creating your restoration. For you, it means a more comfortable and streamlined way to capture the detail we need.
We’ll first assess the tooth to make sure a crown is the right treatment and that the remaining tooth provides a suitable foundation.
The tooth is then carefully prepared, and a digital scan or impression is taken so your crown can be made to fit accurately. A temporary crown may be fitted while the final one is being created.
When your crown is ready, we’ll check its fit, bite and appearance before securing it in place.
The crown may be the part you see, but the natural tooth underneath it still matters.
Good cleaning around the gumline and regular dental examinations help us monitor both the crown and the tooth supporting it. We’ll show you how best to look after the area so that your restoration has the best chance of serving you well for years to come.
Our first question isn’t simply “Can we put a crown on it?” It’s whether restoring the tooth is a sensible long-term option.
If it is, we’ll plan the treatment to protect as much of your natural tooth as possible. If a tooth is too badly damaged to restore predictably, we’ll be clear about that too and explain the other options available.
The goal is treatment that makes sense for your mouth now and for the years ahead.
